“ Stopped here during our drive of the GOR and had some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The fish is delicious with a light, crispy batter, not greasy at all. The chips are perfectly cooked too, and all food was freshly prepared. Even better, it was well priced - $60 to feed 3 people, and we all left feeling very full. Couldn’t recommend this place more. ”

“ We have been here twice now. Both times were fantastic. Highly recommend the calamari, prawn cutlet, potato cake and scallops. Their battered flake and chips for $18 is perfectly crispy and light. It’s not drenched in oil or batter too thick. The fish pack is big enough to share between two, with a few sides each. Everything was so delicious and definitely one of my favourite fish and chips spot. Very quick service and staff are so lovely. All the seafood is super fresh Tomato sauce, chicken salt, vinegar salt, plain salt are self serve so you can add more if there isn’t enough. 22/06 third visit and it is still elite. Light crispy batter with a generous serving of chips. Still a 10/10 meal. The chopped salad was refreshing and delicious ”

“ Arriving around 3 PM, the fish of the day (barramundi) was sold out, so we opted for flake and a salad. However, a mix-up resulted in complimentary chips—a pleasant and generous gesture from the owner. Flake: The fish was beautifully prepared with a light, crispy batter that didn’t overwhelm the delicate flavor of the flake. It was an enjoyable highlight of the meal. Chips: Crisp, golden, and lightly salted, the chips were a satisfying addition. Their perfect texture made them a welcome treat, especially since they were provided on the house. Salad: A fresh and vibrant mix of cabbage, carrot, and pumpkin seeds, the salad was a refreshing counterbalance to the fried elements. The sesame seed dressing added a nutty, aromatic flavor that elevated the dish. The owner’s accommodating nature and generosity added warmth to the experience. Even though we arrived later in the day, the service remained attentive and welcoming. Overall Fish by Moonlite excels in delivering well-prepared, classic fish and chips with a thoughtful touch. The light batter and flavoured salad set it apart from typical seafood spots. A must-visit if you’re driving in or out of the great Ocean road, even if you’re dropping by outside peak hours. ”

“ Nice people, fast at getting to the order and beautiful looking food, fresh and delicious. Some of the best potato cakes we have had in forever. Fish was fresh and looked great but lacking some flavour/ seasoning (maybe that’s what people want?) but that is easily fixed- a pinch of salt and pepper and a touch of whatever else you like. Huge servings like fish and chips used to be years ago. I would suggest sharing! In general worth the trip can’t find better in the area. ”

“ Absolutely loved this place. The fish was super fresh and soft, with a light, crispy batter that wasn’t greasy at all, and the chips were hot and crunchy. Friendly staff and great food quality. The only downside is there aren’t enough tables and seating, so it can be hard to find a spot to sit during busy times, but the food is well worth it. ”

“ Excellent. The fish was very fresh and moist, and the batter very crispy. The batter held its crispyness throughout the eating process. The chips were very crisp but were they made in house or bought in? The potato cake was delicious. Somehow the deep fried food was not oily. Overall highly recommended and would definitely visit again. ”

“ Hands down best fish and chips, soo crispy and the fish is so soft and tender it just falls apart when i poke my fork in. The oysters are just as fresh and amazing quality. The batter is very light and nothing felt greasy. The potato cake was so thick and crispy as well. Loved the salad as well. Great service, nice people. This place is the biggest gem I found on my westward trip from Melbourne. Please open another outpost closer to me. ”
